Iphone 13 Camera app screen blinking

My iphone 13 is only a year old, I've never dropped it and the entire screen flashes when I try to take pictures/videos of anything. It is completely unresponsive. I've checked setting, lighting, changed FPS and nothing works. The entire screen has started to turn black and has the little loading circle and the screen and buttons do nothing until it comes on itself. This HAS to be a software issue but I've got no answers... Can anyone point me in the right direction or am I forced to buy a new phone at this point???

Hi cameraglitch,

Do you have a metal or magnetic protective case on your iPhone? If so, test with it removed. For additional help try the steps below found here: If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working

"Remove case, accessory, or film and test

  1. Remove any case, accessory, or film that might block the camera or flash or that places a magnet near the camera.
  2. Test the camera by trying to take a photo.
  3. Test the LED flash:
    1. Try the flashlight in Control Center on your iPhone or Control Center on your iPad. On an iPhone X or later or an iPad, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen.
    2. Tap the Flashlight button Flashlight icon.

If the flash works only sometimes, open the Camera app and tap the flash button to choose a different setting."

Should the issue continue, make sure you have a backup of your iPhone. How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch Next, reach out to Apple Support directly to further assist and help check on your options.
