I have an iMac 27 (late 2013) and haven’t had issues with it but I can’t upgrade the OS so some of other software updates (adobe) are no longer compatible. I would like to purchase a MacBook and find a way to continue to use my 27 inch monitor. Is there anyway to continue to use my iMac27 with a new laptop?

Unfortunately the target display only works with an older laptop and iMac, and I want to purchase a new laptop. So this target display option doesn’t appear to work but I am hoping there is another option because it’s a shame/waste to have to dispose of this big monitor/iMac when it still works.

About Target Disk Mode:
Target Disk Mode is the existent method to use this as a video output device. If that if of no option for you, then recycle this Mac, asking Apple if they'll take this in for trade in.
