Can't force my iPad to shut down

I have tried to force my iPad to shut down. I have followed the directions. I’ve hitting a volume button and the top button. Nothing happens.


I cannot force my iPad to close this is an iPad 10.9.

The easiest way to shut-down an iPad, regardless of model, is from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Shut Down
