Air drop Failed- Due to not enough space.

Alright let’s start with this.

Just got an Iphone 14pro and trying to air drop Photos and videos from my iphone 11 to the 14pro

Now before you say Icloud and storage. Keep in mind that we have 2tb of storage both on the iphone 14pro and the 11. So that’s not even possible.

So can someone find a fix for this bug please… because it works if you do it one by one, However it will not when you do it in bulk. And no one wants to transfer photos one by one ! That’s not fun and takes to much time.

Ps: I use to be an Advisor so i am well aware of all the troubleshooting needed before. However this device is brand new and has more than enough storage. Also both are up to date.

Any help as to having this bug fix would be appreciated.

You have 2TB of icloud storage, NOT on device storage.

Go to Settings>General>iPhone Storage. Look at the storage there.

Please check your Screen Time restrictions on your iPhone.

Screen Time

Settings > Screen Time > Content and Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps > AirDrop [Enable]

Watch the GIF below

If you have Contacts Only turned On then please add Apple ID of the sending device to your list of contacts on the receiving device. See the pic at the bottom of this post for better clarity

Before you begin

  • Make sure that the person you're sending to is nearby and within Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range.
  • Check that you and the person you're sending to have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. If either of you have Personal Hotspot on, turn it off.
  • Check if the person you're sending to has their AirDrop set to receive from Contacts Only. If they do, and you’re in their Contacts, they need to have your email address or mobile number in your contact card for AirDrop to work.
  • If you're not in their Contacts, have them set their AirDrop receiving setting to Everyone in order to receive the file.

You can put your AirDrop receiving setting to Contacts Only or Receiving Off at any time to control who can see your device and send you content in AirDrop.

Thank you for the response however like i mentioned I am well aware of the troubleshooting steps to do.

As it stands it’s clearly a bug…

I certainly am not judging your abilities. I am simply stating the facts.

And that is -> A brand new Iphone 14pro is unable to get content via air drop due to error “Not enough space”

If i am missing something I would love to have a better solution.

Thank you kindly.

As You can see with photo shown here The phone is brand new and has more than enough storage.

Like i said earlier It works when you transfer one by one however when you try to do it in bulk ( Even if it’s just two video Or Photos ) it will not work.

So I really want to understand where this can be fixed. And if possible see it as a bug because any troubleshooting I am doing or finding isn’t working.

Thank you Kindly.

Alright this is not helpful so this is the last post i’ll send because clearly you are not even taking into consideration what I am saying. Again this is clearly a Bug and nothing we do is working. Asking me for what storage is on the phone is not even something that would stop from doing it. Because let me say this again ! It works when we are sending it one by one. However the issue is when you have it in bulk even if it’s 2 photos or videos. It will not work.

Now look at the image down below of the phone we send it from so you can see there’s more than enough space.

I thank you all for your help but as it stand I will just send a report so someone that can see this bug. Because it’s not new and this shouldn’t happen on a brand new device.

Kind regards I wish you all a great day.
