MacBook Pro M1 battery service recommended and fan running continuously

I checked yesterday and it was totally fine.

But today morning it says battery service recommended although the battery health is 97%. Also the fan is continuously running.

I don't think there's any physical issue with the battery.

Any suggestions??

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.2

If the battery condition is "Service Recommended", then there is some sort of issue with the battery (or possibly some other hardware issue most likely with the Logic Board, but the battery is typically the weakest link). "Service Recommended" indicates either the battery's Full Charge Capacity has dropped below 80% of the original Design Capacity, or macOS has detected a hardware issue with the battery. With the fan also running at high speed, it may indicate a temperature sensor is not being recognized which in this case is probably the sensor in the battery since the battery condition is "Service Recommended".

Try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. It is possible to have intermittent battery issues so the diagnostics may not report a problem.

You can also have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop as well. Even Apple or an AASP can overlook some battery issues if they are intermittent issues...hopefully the battery will still show as "Service Recommended" when they examine the laptop.
