Microsoft App Crash after Migration from Intel to M1 Mac

Any of Microsofts apps are crashing after migrating from an intel MacBook to a new m1 MacBook. I have used CleanMyMac to uninstall and remove junk files and re-installed them to correct this issue. I have also reinstalled Rosetta 2 in case of a compatibility issue. However, I continuously get the below errors.

You must not install Microsoft applications using Migration Assistant.

Apple applications can just be copied and pasted to the Application folder, and will run correctly, not so Microsoft applications.

Instead re-install using the original Microsoft Installer file.

Microsoft applications require a custom installation, which only the original installer can achieve.

As you have remnants of the Microsoft applications on your Mac, these will have to be removed manually prior to installing correctly. Use Find any File to locate these files, then move them to trash then empty the trash.

If you have installed software that wastes computer resources on a regular basis, such as third-party Virus Scanners, speeder-uppers, Cleaner-uppers/Removers, Optimizers, third-party file Sync-ers such as DropBox, BackBlaze, OneDrive, or GoogleDrive, or a VPN that you installed yourself, it will do busywork at previously-impossible speeds, and causing seemingly-random panics, typically for access violations or page faults.

you appear to have done the above:

Antivirus software: Apple, SentinelOne, and CleanMyMac

...and Fortinet

ALL should be removed -- they have no place on your already well-protected Macintosh running current versions of macOS which use a locked, checksummed, user-inaccessible System volume and many other protections

Did you ever find a resolution to this issue?

I had a similar issue with a customer of mine that moved from an Intel MacBook on Monterey to a new M1 Macbook on Ventura.

the M1 MacBook still had preinstalled apps such as Adobe, Forticlient VPN, and Microsoft apps when he migrated everything over from his Intel MacBook. The issues that persisted were Microsoft apps crashing randomly or hanging when opened, finder crashing or loading very slow, logging into the Mac upon rebooting would also hang and show the rainbow circle rotating for about 10minutes.

Since he still had the intel MacBook handy with his profile still on there I had the user Erase all contents and Settings on the M1 MacBook (reinstall a fresh MacOS) and used Migration assistant again to transfer Only** his User account. Then manually reinstalled his apps from the app store etc. So far I've heard no complaints.

You can also try creating a new a account on the M1 MacBook and copying the Home folder from the account on the Old MacBook.

<< I have used CleanMyMac >>

You need to remove that garbage App from your Mac as quickly as possible. It conflicts strongly with stability on a mac

Yes, this device is in a corporate environment; I apologize if that was not detailed earlier. That article, although well put together is mostly apple marketing. I do not believe it is an issue with our AV, as multiple machines, well over 200, are running it without any issues.

To your earlier questions, backups have not yet been configured on this device; they will be once these issues are resolved. DisplayLink software is most likely from our docking station to which this laptop is connected. At this point, I have exhausted enough time and resources into troubleshooting I will have this device shipped back to myself for a full wipe and re-sintall of MacOS, I appreciate the suggestions.

OK, I appreciate the suggestion about, CleanMyMac. However, even after the removal of that app, only Microsoft Office applications crashed. All other apps work without a hitch; I have done multiple of these transitions and this one Macbook is the only one causing issues. Our anti-virus provider SentinelOne is running but that cannot be removed due to corporate policy and has not affected any of the other macs in our environment. Any additional suggestions would be much appreciated.

OK, I cannot remove the Fortinet VPN, as that is how this remote user connects back to our network. Also, SentinelOne, our AV, cannot be removed due to corporate policy. I thought CleanMyMac was removed; I'll check that again. But I never assume Macs or any other OS is well-protected by default. I appreciate the suggestions, but do you have anything else more concrete? Short of wiping the mac and re-installing the OS, I am out of solutions.
