Why can't i add text to pdf usingg MacBook pro?

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand you'd like to add text to a PDF file. You can do this with the Preview app. This article has the steps: Annotate a PDF in Preview on Mac.

  1. In the Preview app  on your Mac, click the Show Markup Toolbar button  (if the Markup toolbar isn’t showing).
  2. Use the tools in the toolbar to mark up the PDF (or use the Touch Bar).


Text: Type your text, then drag the text box where you want.
