Contacts syncing slow

Since Apple changed their servers a couple of months ago I have a problem syncing contacts to any account but my own. They seen to take about 25 minutes to update.

I use both my own account and my wife's account so we can share common contacts.

Anyone else having this problem?

You missed the point. All my accounts are iCloud accounts. Today as I was trying to make changes around 11:30 my time all the accounts on iCloud stopped updating. Nothing would change. Then at around 12:15 they all started syncing.

Is Apple having trouble with their servers?

Hi Rich Rydalch,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! If you're experiencing an issue syncing iCloud Contacts, the steps below can help:

If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync

If you store and edit your contacts in iCloud instead of another place, like On My Mac, Exchange, or Google, then iCloud automatically updates your contacts. If you use multiple accounts on your Mac like iCloud, Gmail, and Yahoo, make sure that iCloud is your default Contacts account:
1. Open the Contacts app.
2. Choose Contacts > Accounts.
3. Click the iCloud tab. Make sure that you're signed in with your Apple ID and that Contacts is enabled.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.

Hello Rich Rydalch,

Currently, there are no outages showing on our system status page: Apple - Support - System Status

That page shows the current status of our different systems. It doesn’t mean that one of them didn’t go down temporarily earlier today.

Just to confirm, everything is working as expected now. Correct? If so, it is possible there was a temporary interruption that has been resolved. This could be an interruption in iCloud, Wi-Fi connection, data connection, etc.

Kindest regards.
