Microsoft Outlook app vs. IOS Calendar and Mail app?

Are there good reasons Outlook (PC) users should not use the IOS Calendar and Mail app on their iPhone vs. the Outlook app?

NOTE: The IOS Outlook app cannot be set to be a "true" default mail and calendar app in IOS. This makes it more difficult to use with other apps that use IOS calendar and mail functionality.

Setting Outlook as my default Calendar I have the same issue as raised in this post: Setting Outlook as my default calendar - Apple Community I have set the default email app to Outlook as per this example from that post - however the Apple Calendar continues to open as the default app when I download an invite. The previous response was to talk to Microsoft - which seems ludicrous, given that the setting for the default app is made within the Apple Calendar app... Can someone from apple please explain WHY this is a behaviour that is driven by Microsoft/Outlook rather than a behaviour driven by Apple Calendar/MacOS? Thanks!
