i got error "System Settings got an error: AppleEvent handler failed." number -10000 on Apple Script

how can i resolve this code? since i got ghost touch on my touch bar, i want to make automation to uncheck the "Show Control Strip" and change "Touch Bar Shows" to Quick Actions

not allowed assistive access applescript An AppleScript that worked just fine yesterday is now failing with the error "System Events got an error. <script name> is not allowed assistive access."' This error appeared only after installing the Mac OS 12.5 update). I have added Script Editor and the compiled script application to the System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Assistive access list. I have deleted the script from that list and re-added it since the error appeared. This does not resolve the issue. The script runs successfully from within script editor. It just will not run when I export it as a compiled application signed for local use even when it is added to the Assistive Access group in System Preferences's Security and Privacy pane. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a workaround?

This is the same question as Apple script is not allowed to send keyst… - Apple Community but the solution there didn't work for me so here's how I got it working again. I ran the code from Script Editor and discovered that some GUI elements had changed. In fixing that, I had to change the code to list the GUI elements that exist so that I could pick one. Apple completely redesigned years of System Preferences layout in macOS Ventura so any of these GUI scripts that expect Monterey or earlier preferences organization and naming are going to break big time.

Probably somewhat more stable, albeit somewhat more obscure, using shell scripting:

And yes, GUI scripting is unstable and fragile and prone to breakage, at best.

Nope. I don't have the time available to do that. Even if you somehow got this working again after a large expanse of time, the release of macOS 13.3 or later could break it again should Apple change something else.

GUI scripting is like misplacing the pin on a handgrenade.
