Remove Remote Access & Malware Software
We made the mistake of allowing a company Remote Access to our MacBook Pro supposedly to help us clean the laptop of MacKeeper and install an HP printer driver and we bought expensive internet security software to protect him in future. We thought we were talking to HP. But it wasn’t!
HELP - 2 questions:
1) How can we check that tracking / malware software wasn’t installed i.e. to track his keystrokes to bank accounts etc?
The company was Cyber Help Tech Solutions. The internet security was AVG Total Protection which is probably good but I canceled it - too much for our needs. Now I'm wondering what really went on when they took 30 mins to remotely work on the laptop.
2) What's a good Mac malware detector for this situation?
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13
