My old phone is MDM-supervised from my work, and they want it back, and so won't remove the supervision. My new phone is my personal device, and I don't want the MDM supervision to transfer to it when I move my data. How should I set up my new, personal iphone so that the MDM doesn't transfer? Manually?
You should not attempt to migrate directly from the old phone or from a backup of it.
Sign into the new phone with your Apple ID to sync your icloud data and re-install any purchased apps from the App Store.
