OWC mercury Pro will NOT run on the 2021 Imac w/M1 chip.

Old Toad steered me wrong. as the OWC Mercury Pro will NOT run on the 2021 Imac w/M1 chip. There is NO cd/dvd driver for this IMAC. Plus their Superdrive also will NOT Run on this machine.

I don't have that iMac, but when you got the OWC drive, did you get the Roxio Toast software with it? Did you insert it to see if it comes up with its installer?

Macs have never had a "driver" for burner/players. When you plug it in, it will not show on the desktop........BUT, when you insert a CD or DVD, it will show that icon on the desktop. To play, click the icon and DVD player should show up or use VLC which will play everything. To burn, use Toast.

All well and good. But Ventura13.2 does not provide for a c/dvd reader writer component for this computer.

I have had talks and chats with both OWC and APPLE about this. OWC and I tried for 2 hours to make it work. and it doesn't. APPLE admitted the IMAC 2021 m1 will not read the OWC CD/DVD player. Or the Superdrive. The M1 computer chip does not recognize it.

OWC mercury Pro will NOT run on the 2021 Imac w/M1 chip.
