Iphone 14 pro stuck in sos only after waking (no cell or wifi reception)

Ok Apple here is what I noticed. If I have an app up that is always active such as a sleep app or something polling the internet, everything keeps working. BUT if I shut down apps the in the morning all I see is SOS. I can repeat this almost every time. I turn on app every night except Friday and Saturday am no signal. Also if I wake up in the middle of the night and browse then everything works in the morning. Got to be something in the code.

tried all the resets. Started with latest iOS. Only power off/on fixes

Greetings MactheEarl,

It sounds like at some point your device is losing access to cellular service. You had mentioned you took some troubleshooting steps on your own. Here’s the article and steps we suggest for this issue. If you haven’t taken them all, please do work through them. We recognize that you’ll need to wait until after an overnight to compete them. If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad We’re summarizing the article, but it does include much more details on each step.

  • Check your coverage area
  • Restart your iPhone or iPad
  • Check for a Carrier Settings update
  • Turn your cellular line off and back on
  • Turn your cellular line off and back on
  • Reset your Network Settings
  • Update your iPhone or iPad
  • Contact your carrier

Also, if you have a VPN or security software, let’s also remove that temporarily and test as well. Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues

Thanks.
