Samsung QN90B and Apple TV 4K 2022... where's the HDR10 plus???

Samsung QN90B - I have an Apple TV 4K 2022. At one point I was able to see HDR 10+, now I cannot. I change the chroma back and forth but that hasn't brought it back...

thanks y'all!

Format indicator icons in the Prime Video app come from the app itself, as programmed by Amazon for each platform. You’ll have to ask Amazon about their indicators and possible differences between platforms.

Try bringing up your TV’s info screen on the current stream, if the TV has support for such a function. That should tell you if you get HDR10+ at that moment, regardless of icons by content providers.

If you can browse Paramount+ channel in the Apple TV app, look for e.g. Significant Other, then look for its format details. It should mention HDR10+ there.

If you connect the Apple TV 4K box to a Samsung TV, then you shouldn’t be able to get Dolby Vision in Settings. If you see that, then try resetting the video settings, to have Apple TV re-establish what the screen is capable of.

You may see content indicators for various formats; that is different. I don’t think you will see HDR10+ labeled content in Apple apps (some content could be DV & HDR10+ both though), but you should see it for select content in other content provider apps, like Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Paramount+, YouTube, and a few others [1]. Amazon seem to be going all-in, with all HDR titles now also in HDR10+. Not sure how they managed that at once for a complete catalog, unless through upconversion of sorts.

Hello Russell Wolff,

While we can't provide a reasoning to what you're seeing, if it's something you'd like to report directly to the team that handles it, you can do so here: Product Feedback - Apple

If you're still having an issue playing the actual HDR10+ content, then reach out to Apple directly as they'd be more equipped to look into the issue further with you: Get Support

Take care.

Thanks. I am keen on all that. But on the home screens of the content (either Apple TV shows, iTunes movies, and apps or Apps like Prime Video via the Apple TV 4K interface), it does NOT show HDR10+ in the description like it did previously. Only Dolby Vision or HDR. In most cases, the HDR seems to play regular HDR10 master file and the Dolby Vision seems to play an HDR10+ master file. Curious where the labeling went??
