Tethering broken in MacOS Ventura

Since upgrading to MacOS Ventura, I haven't been able to use my Nikon D7500 camera with tethering. I've tried three different softwares: NX Tether, Lightroom Classic and Smart Shooter 4. None of these seem to be able to connect properly to my camera. It seems that it's not even related to Nikon, also Canon users are reporting these kinds of problems.

I can use the camera as a webcam with the same cable, so I doubt the issue is due to a faulty cable or port(s). I've also tried it on a Windows 11 laptop with the same cable and there it works flawlessly. From looking at other fora, I'm definitely not the only one having these issues.

I'm currently on MacOS Ventura 13.2.
