can I download data direct from icloud site? itunes doesnt work but the data is shown on icloud

I've inadvertantly messed up when following some instructions before upgrading my iphone and it wiped my phone. Ive managed to recover photos but there is a whole load of info missing but it is shown on the icloud site. Itunes say it cant download the last backup - but the photos I managed to recover are all there and bang upto date

Is there a way of getting information from the icloud account direct?

Appreciate any help

Hi nambutler,

You can setup and use iCloud on the device by completing the steps listed here: Sign in to iCloud on all your devices - Apple Support that are also below.

" Set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name].
If you don’t see [your name], tap “Sign in to your [device],” then enter your Apple ID and password.
Do one of the following:

iOS 16, iPadOS 16, or later: Tap iCloud, then turn on each app or feature you want to use. Tap Show All to see more apps.
iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or earlier: Tap iCloud, then turn on each app or feature you want to use. "

Turning on each app or feature in iCloud settings will allow the content to sync for the app from iCloud.
