Apple TV picture distorted (diagonal ) on browser - was fine until recently

Same issue. It has been working fine up to this point -- suddenly it looks like the old days when cable channels were scrambled.

The really bizarre part is that all of the preview videos play fine, the video clips on the background of the site work fine, it's JUST the shows themselves that are scrambled.

For me it's one episode of Pachinko (episode 6) - the diagonal distortion occurs on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox (Windows 11). Everything else plays as normal so far. Very strange issue - would be great to get some ideas for a solution.

Happening for me as well... was absolutely fine yesterday, today is diagonal. Can play previous episodes and picture is fine. Occurring in both Chrome & FF. Picture is fine on my cell phone, but not through laptop.

This just began happening to me as well. Yesterday, I was on my Windows laptop, using Brave (Chromium-based browser), and everything was fine. This morning, I started watching an episode via the Brave browser on my Mac and it was fine. I closed that window and moved to my laptop, maybe a 5 minute break, and it's distorted on my laptop browser.

I've had this problem for a few weeks now and when I contacted apple for support I get asked if my graphics driver is updated and if everything else is up-to-date. I did what they asked but I'm doing all the footwork.

First call was over an hour and second one was 50 minutes and they are still trying to put it on me. I told him that this needs to be escalated and the engineers need to do their job and stop putting it on the consumer. The cust svc person was trying to tell me that only one other person has contacted them about this. This is pure horse hockey!!!

I got appletv+ for free for one year but when it comes time for renewal, I'll pass unless this changes.

I was on phone 45 mins and passed to 4 reps, almost to a 5th. Then said had a day job to do and had to go! All I was doing was reporting the issue, rep even linked to my PC to see the screen all diagonal. Told the rep lots folks have same issue.

Have the same issue, and can confirm it happens on Chrome too... was not an issue until a few weeks ago.

Same thing here, oddly the MLS side of Apple TV works ok, as did the entire thing until today.

Had the same issue with Echo 3.....only. Went into Google Settings and turned off "Use hardware acceleration when available". Went back to the movie and it played fine. Hope it works for you also.

Happen to us too been watching severance for the last few days today the distorted video. Started Ted lasso was fine for two episodes then third episode was distorted

All episodes of Echo 3 are distorted like this for me. I can watch other shows on Apple TV with no issue.

Same here. Looks like a decoder plugin issue. What did you change Apple?

I phoned in passed to 3 reps, who wanted to pass me to a 4th, shared screen to show issue. I said had to get back to my day job. He viewed the forum, up to them to fix. !

Fixed it by changing settings in the edge brower by turning off "Use hardware acceleration when available"
