The Installer failed to install the software on a Macbook Pro 2021

I downloaded Box installer from its website and tried to install the software on my 2021 MBP 14-inch with M1 Pro chip, running macOS Ventura 13.2.

It keeps failing to install, with the message "The installation failed. The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

I also tried another Installer for a different software/application to be installed on my MBP, downloaded from its website. It returned the same message.

Any idea why this happened and how to solve it ?

Thanks.

The extensions have been enabled too. I have used extensions of various apps such as cloud drives and others.
The placement for Extensions is placed at the bottom, in Ventura 13.2 version.

However, the installation for Box drive keeps failing.
This is frustrating. In short, I cannot install additional any third-party software / application that I want to add to my laptop for my needs.
I think Apple needs to fix this issue in Ventura 13.2.

I've had better luck from the Safe Mode because I evidently have some 3rd party software that interferes with the downloading and installing so try the following:

#1 - boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3-5 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

#2 - go to the System/Software Update preference pane and begin the download.

#3 - run the installer from the Safe Mode.

Hi,

Thanks for this.

I'm afraid the menu/item structure in Ventura OS is a bit different. System Preferences is now called System Settings, where it has the menu about installing apps from identified third-party developers (ie not from the app store).

And, unfortunately, even after changing the options (which I always did) still did not yield a result.

Even I cannot install an updated version of Zoom, on an already installed Zoom app.

I think there is some problem / bug with the Ventura 13.2 which Apple needs to fix.

If an updated version of an already installed app can't be installed to replace the older version, obviously the new apps that need to be installed fresh from outside can't be installed either.

Hi Old Toad,

Thank you for the guidance.

I tried that suggested method, however, it still gave the same result, using the Safe Mode.

I hope Apple fix this kind of issue. I've been an MBP user since 2006, and I have never encountered such problem. However, after updating from Monterey to Ventura, this failed installer issue occurs frequently. Clearly, it's an OS issue / bug ....

Apple ... fix the bug in Ventura OS please.
