Watch Ultra does not charge

It has been less than six months since I have purchased my Apple Watch Ultra. Yesterday the battery went out and it will not charge anymore. I took it to the Apple store and they told me they will take the watch and send it to the repair and it will take 3 to 5 days. How come Apple will not replace the watch since it's under warranty?
