How to remove the VPN status icon from the menu bar

I used to use a VPN which I removed about six months ago. I later noticed that I still had the stats icon in my menu bar but no longer see the VPN options in the Control Center Settings to remove it. Is there a workaround or something I can do to remove this?

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply but I did use the uninstaller that came with the VPN. The app itself and the configuration profile are gone. This status icon was not from the developer, they had their own. This one is the macOS VPN status indicator.

When I go into my Network Settings I have the option to add a VPN configuration which I assume is standard for macOS.
