Magic Trackpad connectivity with Ventura 13.2 update

After a recent update to 13.2 my Magic Trackpad will only connect for about 1-2 seconds and then lose the connection.

This issue also happened with the previous update, but powering off and unplugging the Mac resolved it.

Have tried various things:

1) restart the Mac

2) 'sudo pkill bluetoothhd' command

3) toggle Bluetooth off/on

4) new batteries in trackpad

5) delete bluetooth plist file

Other bluetooth devices are working normally.

Any suggestions? TIA

I looked it up on Amazon but I may have bought it twice over the years and this pad is definitely A1339 (it's on the back) though the last time I bought it was 2018. Maybe I have that one floating around somewhere else and got them mixed up.

Regardless I have some strange good news. I decided to reboot to Big Sur to see if the problem was the Trackpad itself and there were no problems. Then, when I rebooted to Ventura, this Trackpad paired up nicely and is working fine! (I had tried a restart in Ventura at the beginning of troubleshooting this but that didn't work. Having shut downs completely and restarted is what seems to have made this get recognized.)
