My Ipad will not update Zoom app

if it say it’s up to date but still can’t run zoom it’s because the developers chose not to support the older version of iOS your device support

The first generation iPad is obsolete - as is its 32-bit system architecture - and cannot be updated beyond iOS 5.1.1.

All 32-bit Apps have also been withdrawn from the Apple App Store. As such, there are no 32-bit Apps available for 32-bit devices. Zoom requires iOS11 or later.

As LotusPilot stated, Zoom requires iOS 11 or later.

You have not told us the type or vintage of your iPad. The types and vintages of iPad that cannot be updated to iOS 11 are:

• Fourth generation iPad and earlier. The fourth generation iPad was released by Apple in 2012.
• First generation iPad Mini, also released by Apple in 2012.

So your remark “Sadly something that is not that old …” is incorrect as you’re talking about hardware released over ten years ago.
