Airplay icon colors

Can anybody explain what the red vs. green airplay icon colors mean when playing Music with the Apple Watch? I've noticed that it changes back and forth, but I couldn't find any explanation in the Apple Watch guide or support pages. It does seem to keep the connection with my AirPods better when it's green, but it still works when it's red too.

Hey BobGSF,

All the status icons and colors are explained in this article here: Status icons and symbols on your iPhone

You mentioned about red and green colors. Are you referring to orange and green by any chance? Check out the section that says 'If you see orange or green indicators in the status bar' from the article above.

We'll be looking forward to your response!

Best regards.

No, I’m sorry but this does not answer my question and the article you linked to is not responsive to my inquiry either. I’m speaking specifically about when the Music app on Apple Watch is active. In the lower left corner of the watch face while listening to music on my AirPods, there is the familiar AirPlay icon; it’s either red or green in color and appears continuously while connected. This icon switches back and forth between the two colors, and it’s not clear what the difference is between the two. For some reason the page in the Apple Watch support manual that explains what the various icons signify does not address this. As I asked before, anybody know what it means??
