Open Terminal.app in Applications>Utilities folder, double click on Terminal.app to start it then paste in this line then press enter...
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg;killall SystemUIServer
There are a variety of methods however I always use the Preview - Adjust size. For other methods I would Google so you can find the other methods and then you can decide which method you prefer!
PNG. My daughter knows how to get it to jpeg, but can't walk me through it easily. I did get the one I need ed minimized though. Is there a way to change the setting so all screenshots are done in jpeg?
Thanks BDAqua. I got as far as you directed. I don't see anywhere to enter the code. Do I then open screenshots? If so, when I open screenshots it is a little box with a description, but again with no place to enter the code. Am I doing something wrong?
