Apple Maps app does not work accurately in NYC walking or driving

Do you also have Wi-Fi on? It’s especially important in a city, where the line of sight to the GPS satellites are frequently obscured by tall buildings, and the iPhone’s AGPS (Assisted GPS) uses the locations of known Wi-Fi networks to navigate.

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities about your experience with Maps. You need to be able to depend on being able to use the app when needed. Does this happen in a lot of locations, or only the other day when you were running appointments in NYC?

It doesn’t need to be connected, it just needs to be on. It listens for Wi-Fi signals, but doesn’t connect to them.

I’m not sure what your problem is; I use it in NYC on an almost daily basis.
