AirPlay keeps dropping on commercials

To aid us in isolating this, can you confirm the following?

• What steps have you tried other than the workaround you mentioned?
• Has this been a persistent problem since purchasing the TV, or at some point in the past did it AirPlay properly?
• Do you have another Apple device you can test AirPlay to this tv with?

Additionally, take a look over the tips here for if AirPlay isn't working as expected.

Same problem here. Noticed it happens when I use my MLB app to watch baseball games. Everytime it goes to commercial, it immediately disconnects my phone, I have to then quickly restart the app and open the game.

if I wait too long to do this , it’ll lose connection from my phone to the tv all together and won’t find the connection through the MLB app.

To reestablish connection from phone back to the tv, I go to YouTube on safari, play a video and send it to my tv. Then I stop the video and restart the mlb app. Then it works again. But still shuts off at every commercial. Any one find a fix?

I have the same exact problem. High end LG OLED. Airplay with the ESPN app from my phone. Drops connection whenever it hits a program. Tried back to back weekends with different golf tournaments. Beyond Frustrating.

I have this exact same problem between my iPhone 12 and MacBook Air and all my less than 2 year old LG TVs for MLB.tv app. When the game goes to commercial my Apple product freezes and the TVs give me an Airplay and Home settings/setup screen. Have to exit that and then restart the MLB app to get it to reconnect. When not using Airplay, MLB works fine/without interruption on phone and MacBook.

Same issue! For me it happens only when I AirPlay with the ESPN app. Commercials don’t airplay for some reason and I have to reset every few minutes.

Buy apple for seamless ecosystem, they said.

every time there was a promotion the airplay stayed connected but it would drop the live stream and default to ESPNs promotion loop. It’s like a 3 minute segment on loop.

Same exact issue . I’m streaming Philo from my iPhone 14 pro max to my Vizio tv , and every time a ad comes on it kicks me out . I have to watch the ad on my phone and then airplay again once the ad is over . Vizio doesn’t have the Philo app so I’m forced to buy a Roku Device or something else for a tv I’m guessing . But the issue is the phone because my chrome cast never did this to me before I just recently switched to apple .

I have the exact same problem with a recent LG TV, fully updated. Airplay from my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It drops the connection as soon as there’s a commercial break. I can go back into the ESPN app and reconnect but that’s less than ideal.

Even using a fully updated iPhone 11 Pro trying to use AirPlay to an up to date Apple TV box is utterly useless. It freezes when casting to the box then when it works it drops out on every commercial break. Usually have to close YouTube and recast, so unusable. Being an apple eco system you would think this would work.

300+ people have said they have the same issue and I’m sure tens of thousands have it and haven’t found this thread. There’s been no update since February. Can you please update the community with what you’re doing to fix this issue on all LG TVs with AirPlay.

This is so annoying, airplay predictably stops at every ad break while I’m watching Cricket. It happens every time so Apple please don’t say you need to isolate issue, in fact you can reproduce this so easily.

we pay a premium to get into apple ecosystem for the quality products and services, it feels worst when that is not happening. This is very basic for a feature like air play, it shouldn’t have been launched with bugs like this, speaks much about decline of Apple rather than just a single product/service.

I have an Apple TV box and when using air play to it from my iPhone 11 Pro on YouTube it just cuts out on every commercial. It’s been like it for months, both on the latest firmware.

I cannot believe the Apple “geniuses” cannot fix this issue!! Safe to say it’s not an individual complaint as it’s effecting a **** ton of people. Apple customer service blows donkey c0ck. There isn’t one towel head that can fix this in a few hours ffs? Kunts

Apple never replies and admits there is an issue let allow a bug. Tired of looking At these threads to find only community help and no resolutions on documented bugs. Obviously I have the same issue.

I have the same problem. Every iPhone I have owned drops the show when commercials comes on when I am using airplay. My iPad 8 does it as well. However, when I AirPlay from my MacBook this does not happy.
