Hi turingtest2!

First of all, I'd really like to take a moment and thank you for all the help you've been over the years - I've read many of your support articles and guides, and you've really been a life-saver on more than one occasion. Thank you so much!

I'm having this same issue, and the steps you outlined above didn't help, I'm afraid. I even uninstalled iTunes and did a fresh install per your guide. Does it help at all to know that when this error message occurs as soon as I try to turn on the iCloud Music Library? It also happens as soon as I log in to iTunes when I've tried to log out and back in.

Another strange side effect, for me, is that iTunes switches to the "store" tab as soon as I launch it, instead of staying on the "library" tab as it has done for many years. I'm using iTunes 12.6.5.3 on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine.

Is there any chance that additional info makes you think of any other possible solutions? Either way, I really can't thank you enough for sharing all of your expertise with us all.

Same error here too. Randomly stopped syncing with the apple music library the night of 2/14. Everything I've downloaded a copy of still exists as a file on the PC, but can't do anything with them. When I try to enable the iCloud library, I can see all the songs pop up in the library list for a moment until this error comes in.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled, created new libraries, deleted genius files, etc, even tried a system restore to a point prior to when it stopped working, and nothing. But I can go to my other PC, enable the library, and everything is there. So there has to be something specific about this computer that is not cooperating. Win 7 32-bit (yes I know it's old but I haven't needed a new laptop in a while)

The genius feature probably needs to interact with the iTunes Store. Apple may have made a change that affects connections from older builds of iTunes. If you create a new empty iTunes library (hold down shift as you launch iTunes) are you able to turn on iCloud Music Library then?

You can also try holding down shift+ctrl when opening iTunes which opens it in its safe mode, and sometimes helps with odd issues.

The date does line up-ish with the disabling of IE 11, although that's for Win 10.

I don't have any issues navigating to the store through iTunes. I've tried the new library trick, didn't work for the laptop. New library is actually how I checked it out on my desktop since I didn't want to chance messing up the main library. Safe mode had no luck either.

I can run Genius from non-Apple music songs that are on my hard drive with no problem.

Same error and around the same time frame as well. Older windows machine with iTunes install synced to Apple Music on iPhone. Worked perfectly up until last week. For years I've been able to add mp3s not available in Apple Music into my desktop iTunes then sync them to my iPhone instantly. Then add songs to my Apple Music Library and it would sync to my desktop iTunes in almost the same time.

I listen to music every day and enjoy the massive Apple Music library (paid subscription btw) but still appreciate those random, rare songs that I own and aren't available elsewhere. Having the freedom of both makes music listening enjoyable, especially when you hit shuffle.

Please help!

Okay I am glad I am not the only one! I've been having this problem for over a week now, when I try to access my icloud library I get this message, yet if I just update genius it works fine, so it must be an iCloud issue. I was starting to give up and couldn't find anything about this particular error until just now. Strangly I can still access my iCloud library on my iPhone, just not on my computer. I've tried every. single. thing. that people have recommended, signing out and signing back in, turning off icloud and turning it back on, creating a new iTunes library, it doesn't work, because when I try to turn it back on that is the problem, I can't even get it back on. In my main library I can still see all my music in iCloud, I just can't download or play it.
