Transfer .jpg's from Adroid device to Mac Book using Bluetooth

I can get my Android 'phone (Alcatel 11/ Android Version 11) to connect my MacBook Air (Ventura 13.1). What I cannot do is transfer pictures from the 'phone to MacBook.

With the connection made on the 'phone I select the picture I wish to 'Bluetooth transfer' and touch the 'share' icon.

The phone firstly reports 'Sending' followed shortly afterwards with 'Sending Failed'

Is this a bluetooth incompatibility or am I doing some wrong?
