export icloud notes

I would like to know how to export Notes from my MacBook Pro. They reside on the iCloud, I believe, and I have over 2000 of them. It's confounding to me that I haven't found a clear and direct way to do this.

My wish:

In one long file, with time-stamps for each note, retaining the original characteristics of each note. If that's not possible, perhaps 2000 tiny little files so that each note is saved and dated from whence it was created.

Really. This is a request for comment and direction.

Hi Judith-Emily,

Your notes can be exported as a PDF from your Mac. They will need to be exported individually. Check out the information in the guide here: Import and export notes on Mac - Apple Support.

Export a note

1. You can export notes as PDF files.
In the Notes app  on your Mac, click the note you want to export.
2. Choose File > Export as PDF.
If you want, you can type a new name for your PDF, and add tags that you can search for in the Finder.
3. Click Save."

Hope that helps!

This query was made to assist not only myself but to all long term users of Notes. Comments are welcome here as to work-arounds. It still amazes me that this is not a larger conversation yet. ... You could say the same for easy copying of other iCloud contents especially in the case of thousands of Photos which apparently can't be just Command-A selected and downloaded: it's too much. What do people do? (Thanks, in the name of all...)
