Using Airport as Wireless Drive with Windows

I'm interested in trying to use an older 3rd Gen A1355 AirPort Time Capsule w/1 TB drive as a standalone wireless drive for home Windows network. My network has it's own wireless router which I do not want to replace. My question is would it be possible to use the Airport drive by itself without being physically (via RJ45) connected to my network. I just want to be able to read/write to the wireless drive.

Thanks in advance

Big problem.

The Time Capsule uses an older protocol called SMB1 for communications to the network. But....Microsoft disabled SMB1 starting in Windows 10 for very good security reasons.

So, even if you can get the Time Capsule to connect to the Wi-Fi network using a wireless connection......(and that is a big IF)......your PC will not be able to access the hard drive on the Time Capsule. Your Mac can though, if you have a Mac.

The PC will also probably not be able to access any of the settings on the Time Capsule as well.
