Since upgrade to Ventura 13.2.1, my iMac is at times really slow after clicking a hyperlink or application icon.

I would make sure you have plenty of SSD drive space available that is not used. Also, try booting into safemode which runs system diagnostics and repairs problems it finds. (Also, check if you are running any 3rd party optimize utilities like CleanMyMac, or Anti-Virus Software. None of which is needed and get in the way of macOS from performing as it should.)

Yes and perform the same in Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave and Oldest Machine on the stable High Sierra macOS 10.13
Think it is time for Us ( collectively Us ) to refocus onto the Authors' Question.
Perhaps opening your own Question may provide greater control and allowances to further this issue ?
