Sync between Mac and iPhone

I have certain Word, Excel and PDF files on my Mac that I want to sync with an iPhone/iPad periodically so that those files are available on the mobile device when I am traveling and don't have access to the internet. For years, I have used Documents to Go for this but DTG appears to be on its last legs and the DTG company says they know of no other program that will do this. Does anyone know of an alternative?

Hey jes205,

For syncing files between devices, have you considered using iCloud Drive? This feature keeps files synced between your Mac and iPhone, and also allows you to download them for when you need to use them offline. Here's more information about iCloud Drive, and how to set it up: Access and manage your files in iCloud Drive - Apple Support

The Links below are related to iCloud and how is works seamlessly between Apple Devices if they are all setup correctly

Sign in to iCloud on all your devices - Apple Support (CA)

How iCloud keeps information up to date across all your devices - Apple Support (CA)

Apps and features that use iCloud - Apple Support (CA)

Copies of Files on iCloud are also storied Locally for the times Internet Access is not available

Any changes to such a file ( Locally ) stored will be updating the changes to iCloud once Internet Access is re-established

Tammy,

I already use iCloud Drive for other purposes but I need a copy of the current version of the subject files on my mobile device when I am traveling and don't have access to the internet. Documents to Go does this by synching a group of selected files whenever I choose to do so with the internet such that the current file is placed on the mobile device for when I don't have the internet. If there's an easy way to do this with iCloud Drive, I don't know how to do it.

I'm not sure everyone understands what I am trying to do. I have certain files/folders on the Mac that I want to have available on a mobile device when I am traveling. While traveling (carrying only my mobile device and not the Mac) I do not want to access those Mac files using the internet. Instead, I want the latest version of of the files/folders to already be on the mobile device so I can view them while traveling without the internet. The app Documents to Go lets one designate selected files so that the app can sync those between the Mac and the mobile device (duplicates of the files are actually put on the mobile device). Since Documents to Go (DTG) is apparently not long for this world, I want something that works in a similar manner. I should also add that DTG does not make me put the specified files together in a designated folder but instead synchs the files from wherever they are on the Mac once I have told DTG where the files are. Can iCloud Drive do something like this or not? DTG staff say they know of no other app beyond DTG that will do this. James
