Apple Pencil having pressure sensitivity issues

Around 2 months ago I got a brand new Apple Pencil (2nd Gen) and iPad (Air 5). Everything was working perfectly until I took it on a roadtrip and when I came back I put a tempered glass screen protector on the iPad. Ever since the Apple Pencil has had pressure sensitivity issues. It makes super uneven and erratic lines, won’t react to pressure no matter how hard I press, and will fluctuate between super thick and pixel thin lines. It makes drawing super annoying and hard, and it isn’t enjoyable to me anymore :(

At first I thought it was the tip, I just got new ones in the mail, and they didn’t make a difference. I’m not sure if it’s the screen protector or that the pencil itself is damaged from being in a car, but if you have any idea what it might be I would love to get some help on this subject.

You've taken great steps to resolve this issue so far. It does seem likely the issue is related to the screen protector, but we can appreciate not removing that right away as your first test.

Try making sure the tip for your Apple Pencil is installed tightly.

If the tip is on correctly, one other thing you can try to make sure the Apple Pencil is behaving correctly is to visit the nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider or borrow another iPad from a friend or family member, and test the Apple Pencil on another iPad. If the Pencil doesn't exhibit the behavior then you'll have isolated the issue to being either with your iPad or your screen protector.
