I have recently had an editor help me with my workload.
I created 1080p proxy files of my 4k content and he has edited these proxy files in a project.
After receiving the SSD back, I opened his project (which is in 1080p) to tweak the grade and I can't find a way of bringing that project up to 4k again. Even after I relink the original files?
Any advice and guidance appreciated!

Which files are you seeing as 1080 and where?
If the *project* was mistakenly set to 1080, you can change it easily. Press Command-J. Then click Modify and change to 4K. Everything should automatically match the new size.

From the little menu at the top right of the Viewer, choose Optimized/Original instead of Proxy Only or Proxy Preferred.
Did you send him your library that created the proxies, or did he create his own library? If the latter the edit will have to be recreated using the original media. This would be where an EDL export function would be useful. There might be a utility that will convert XML to EDL. That could help even though EDL is a limited format.
It appears that your coworker used your proxies as his originals.
You may try to relink the files and select your originals instead. It may work, or FCP may tell you that the files do not match. You won't know unless you try.
I have just changed the project to 4k after using command + J. I can no longer see the viewer tab to switch it between optimised and proxy files for some reason?

That's what I usually do but its still sat as 1080p files.
So it seems the original media is still set as the proxy files. How can I change this so that its the originals?
He created a new library to edit from the one I created the proxies on.
