Music on Mac: I am NOT an Apple Music subscriber, but have music on my mac, which has played properly for years. Until today. I can only play music by clicking each song individually. Playlists don't work at all. One. Song. At. A. Time. is what I'm stuck with.
Monterey 12.4 currently.

That symptom usually means your songs have come unchecked. Music will not automatically advance to an unchecked song which creates that One. At. A. Time. effect.
If you don't see your checkboxes, switch to songs view, and also enable Music Preferences > General, "Show -- song list checkboxes."
