Why won't Siri talk to me in the morning?

Before 8AM, Siri won't vocally respond when I ask about the weather. On my 2020 iPhone SE, she will respond vocally no matter what time of day. But now on my brand new iPhone 12 mini, she won't respond before that time of day. Do Not Disturb is completely disabled, and Siri is set to "always respond". I have tried restarting my phone. Can't see what I'm missing!
