"postgres" background items added

How do you turn off the "Background Items Added" popup? I recently upgraded my OS to Ventura. Now I get bombarded with these annoying popups!!!

My popups say "postgres". So, my popup is probably not the same as others.

Each time I go toggle the switch to turnoff the popup it works for my session. However, when I reboot the popups are back.

Does Apple have a tutorial video on how to deal with this? My laptop is a macbook pro with 13.2.1 Ventura and an M1 chip.

It's a great laptop and I love it! However, this popup is... I have to admit is driving me nuts. I'm sure the smart folks at Apple have a solution. All my devices are Apple. My iMac doesn't have have this problem, but I am not running Ventura. And I won't upgrade until this popup issue get resolution. And I'd caution anyone about doing the Ventura upgrade. I'd say it is best to wait until Apple gets this problem sorted out.

Here is a snapshot. Every few seconds, a new popup is born and appended below. Eventually, it consumes the right side of my screen. Why would the OS keep creating new popups with the same condition? This is a forever loop gone mad!

That's not what those switches are for. They actually disable software in question. In some cases, there is some other mechanism that attempts to re-load the software. So you are likely causing the pop-ups yourself.

However, when I reboot the popups are back.

Are you only getting the popups at boot time? If so, then that doesn't sound too bad. Most people's complaints involve constant pop-ups.

I'm afraid the pop-up are Apple's method of "sorting out" the problem. They are designed to annoy you so that you will contact the developers of your "postgres" software and encourage them to fix it. Postgres has never made a very good Mac version. This new design in Ventura is meant to weed out many of these older, poorly-developed and poorly supported apps so that Apple can continue the transition to iOS on the desktop.

If you don't need the software, you can uninstall it. However, software like this is often very difficult to uninstall, sometimes literally impossible. Good luck with that.

I can tell you that Apple seems to be aware of the problem and has no intention of fixing it. I think this new behaviour is the solution to other issues that are bigger problems, at least from Apple's perspective.
