How do I stop the Music app from opening automatically on my MacBook Pro when I'm using my bluetooth headphones on another device?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.6

I don't believe this is a bug. This seems to be a feature. When Bluetooth headphones are connected music always opens and starts playing without prompting. It's annoying and has been annoying users for years. There doesn't seem to be a way to uninstall the music application nor is there a setting in preferences to suppress this.

This wouldn't be expected behavior. There are a few steps you can try when experiencing unexpected behaviors.
