Problem with Mouse Lag on External Monitor

Hello,

I recently upgraded my Mac to the 2020M1, so I had to buy an external adapter in order to connect my external monitor and mouse. My external monitor is a Dell 3415W and the docking station I bought is MOKIN (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B3NV1BY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). I also have a Logitech Bluetooth external keyboard which works fine, but the lag on the mouse (a Logitech M510, which has a small USB that I plug in to the MOKIN) when I try to use the external monitor makes trying to use the mouse basically pointless. The MOKIN connects to the monitor through an HDMI cable. Can someone help me figure this out? I have wrist/hand issues and need to be able to use an external mouse. Thank you!

Greetings catbus171,

The issues seems to be related specifically to your Bluetooth mouse. For starters, do you have another mouse to test your MacBook Air with? If so, connect the mouse and test it out. This can help indicate if the issue is related to the mouse, the Bluetooth connection, or something else.

Restart the Mac. Does this help to resolve the issue? Often this simple step will refresh the apps and software on the device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.

If you have not already done so, check the mouse tracking speed of your mouse. Here's guide to help with these steps: Change mouse tracking, double-click, and scrolling speed on Mac - Apple Support. If this is set too slow, this can also cause this issue.

Additionally, go through the settings on your Mac to make sure the Bluetooth mouse is connected and set up correctly with your Mac; Use an Apple wireless keyboard, mouse, or trackpad with Mac - Apple Support.

We hope these steps and information help to isolate the cause of your issue.

Kind regards!
