How to remove time zone information from entries in my calendar?

Hello!

Sometimes when I make a calendar booking I get the information about what time zone it is.

I get that this can be valuable information if you

a) travel a lot or

b) live in a country with several time zones.

I do neither. So for me, the activity and time are more than enough information. In fact, the info about "CET" steals valuable space from my activity which is very annoying!

I have tried to see a pattern and I see that when I make a booking on my Mac, it can exist without the CET, but if I make it on my iPhone the CET-info gets appended (but only on my Mac).

If I use my iPhone to edit the booking, made on my Mac, it changes it and adds "CET" to the booking.

So, it seems like it has to do with the iPhone. I can not for the life of me find how to switch this "service" off.

I attach two photos that show how two different calendar notes, created on iPhone and Mac, look on iPhone and on Mac. The latter shows my point, that you can not see the whole entry since the CET letters steal some space.

I have an iPhone 11 Pro iOS 15.7.1 and

Mac Book Air 13" 2019 macOS Monterey 12.0.1 iCal version 11.0

Hi CCKayWithAKay,

We understand that you don't want the time zone to display in your Calendar entries, correct? From the article posted above, you can disable time zone support which will remove the time zone from your events. Check this out: Use different time zones in Calendar on Mac - Apple Support

"Switch your calendar’s time zone

  1. In the Calendar app  on your Mac, choose Calendar > Settings, then click Advanced.
  2. Select “Turn on time zone support.”
  3. Click the pop-up menu to the left of the Calendar search field, then choose a time zone.

To choose a time zone that isn’t listed, choose Other.

Events are moved to the correct dates and times for the time zone."

We hope this helps you.

Take care!

Hello!

Thanks for trying to help. No it did not make any difference. This still happens: "If I use my iPhone to edit the booking, made on my Mac, it changes it and adds "CET" to the booking. So, it seems like it has to do with the iPhone. I can not for the life of me find how to switch this "service" off."

If I only use iCal on Mac everything is fine but as soon as I involve iPhone and make a change in a calendar booking it adds the "CET" (but not on iPhone, only on Mac). Highly anoying and it seems impossible to do something about it.

In addition to my question:

I have searched faq:s and forums but I can not find the answer. I see a lot of people who wish to do the same thing as I do. And they too get replies about how to use timezone settings in iCal... Seems difficult to get through with what it is we mean.

So, I am adding another photo to my question, perhaps there is someone out there who understands AND knows what to do about it.

So, to be super clear with what it is I wish to do:

The letters within the orange box - I would like them to NOT show in iCal on my Mac.
