Connecting My Macbook to an External Monitor

What are some effective ways to connect a MacBook to an external monitor for optimal performance? I've been researching different options but would appreciate some advice from the Apple community. Additionally, I've come across a website that provides that says that you can connect your MacBook to a monitor even wirelessly, is that even possible? Has anyone tried it? Thank you for your help!

Hello,

Below I pasted the section of the article about adding a wireless external display but, for performance I would assume a wired display would be better, especially if you will be using it for something like gaming.

Use one or more external displays with your Mac - Apple Support

"Connect the displays wirelessly

You can wirelessly connect your Mac to devices, such as another Mac and certain smart TVs, and use them as displays.

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Displays  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the  pop-up menu on the right (below the name of your Mac), then choose your display."

I hope this helps.
