MLS Season Pass Streaming Quality

I'm trying to watch some games that I missed from this past weekends set of matches and the playback quality on the web browser is absolutely HORRIBLE, downright unwatchable. Apple and MLS should be ashamed of the level of video quality that they are pumping out in the year 2023. If it doesn't improve rapidly I will be cancelling my MLS Season Pass for sure.

Come on, Apple. This MLS Season Pass is garbage. What a waste of my money. I can barely tolerate attempting to watch games. It’s nearly pointless as I can only make out blurry figures running around on the field. What’s the deal? Are you just going to take our money or are you attempting to remedy the issue?

Not only is the quality bad, but it will not resume an MLS game if I step away for more than 10 minutes! I have to start from the very beginning of the game and fast forward to where I left off! I've gotten very good at memorizing the exact minute and seconds I paused or stopped a game at. Shame on you, Apple!

13 weeks later and I still can’t watch a game because of buffering, the only fix is switch to SD only mode which is absolutely atrocious to watch, it looks worse than 720p. Top that off with lack of unique content and a clunky UI and I will not be renewing.

By the looks of all these replies Apple has effectively sunk the MLS at its biggest opportunity to make it grow. Really disappointing

Seriously, this is horrible.

Not having an issue with buffering or streaming... but any time the ball is kicked any distance... there are trailers or Ghost balls.

It makes me sick; hurts my eyes; hard to watch...

They need to do something...

Change the shutter speed or f-stop something..

Apple TV content is quite impressive. But trying to watch an mls match reminds me of the days of bunny ear antennas one had to adjust constantly to get a clearish signal. It takes 5 to 10 mins to get from Play Match until it comes on the screen. During the match one has to reset it 4 or 5 times. Surely it can't be my internet speed, having the xfinity 1000 Mbps plan.

Same here! My kids love the Union but stuttering of the stream is so incredibly bad, they (and I) can’t even watch. And it’s NOT our WiFi. No other streaming channel does this.

I’m also complaing to the league and the Union front office. It’s unwatchable, and we seem to have no recourse.

It’s a HORRIBLE product.

Mls on Apple TV has absolutely ruined my ability to enjoy watching MLS. It is awful. Apple obviously has no idea how to stream live sports... I wonder if the league will even last with this terrible product as pretty much the only way to watch the league. I am a die hard fan and scream and mutter and yell every time the game suddenly stops or glitches or zoom in so I can't see the entire field of play. This unacceptable. I have good internet. Multiple smart tvs and streaming devices and I don't have a problem streaming anything with the exception being Apple tv... wether it's streaming on my smart TV app or on a broswer.... I have yet to have a drama free or even a vaguely enjoyable time watching a single this season. Lucky I have season tickets but I'm not sure I want to support the morons in charge that made this deal possible

I recommend that people call Apple Support and ask for technical support at 1-800-275-2273. I did and they recommended that I cycle my router. (power it on and off). I doubt that will help since I recently upgraded my Verizon router. The problem is clearly on the Apple side. Maybe if enough subscribers call in and request an escalation, the streaming problem will be fixed.

Watched the NYC - phila game yesterday. Horrible quality stream. Closeup ok but general game field shots were poor. As soon as action started and the camera follows it's blurry. The lines on the field are just short of dashes. Why? My stream on you tube fs1 is beautiful. So it's not my equipment. There is no video adjustment in settings that I see...maybe cause I just have mls? Problem? Yup that apple has almost all the mls.

Me too - I checked my internet speed and it's 500Mbs at the moment so it's not my internet connection. This is ALL apple streaming and it's crap. I can hardly follow the ball on the screen it's so grainy. Horrible! Maybe Apple should buy Netflix so they can figure out how to do streaming?

April 2024 and into season 2 of MLS appleTV… and still experiencing poor quality image and audio streaming of all matches. The game ‘freezes’ regularly. Yet no issue with other platforms streaming shows. Provider conforms download speed reflect no issues on their technical side. So how does appleTV resolve matter?

I’m having the same issues. The quality is horrible. Apple needs to fix this problem. It’s impossible to watch.

MLS on browser is almost unwatchable. Slightly better in full screen. Super disappointed in Apple.
