You can access AirDrop directly from your Control Center, but you can also get an icon on your desktop that takes you directly to AirDrop Settings, where you can select "Everyone for 10 Minutes"
See this GIF where I demonstrate both options. Below is a guide to making the Shortcut:
To create an AirDrop shortcut:
1. Open the Shortcuts app
2. Tap Add Action
3. Search for "URL" and select it.
4. Paste this path: prefs:root=General&path=AIRDROP_LINK
5. Go to the bottom of the search box and search for "Open URLs" and select it.
At the top, in the dropdown menu, you can choose to give the shortcut a color, icon and name - finally you choose Add to Home Screen.

In iOS 16, it is only possible to keep AirDrop open to everyone for 10 minutes. After that, AirDrop automatically sets itself back to only being able to receive content from contacts. This cannot be changed.
Does anyone know a way of using Apple Shortcuts as a workaround to allow for everyone with a Home Screen icon shortcut?
I use airdrop multiple times a day to transfer documents and photos between my work IPAD and IPhone, since it’s managed by the company I’m not allowed to sign in via iCloud on the iPad, because of that, I cannot find a way to add it as a contact so every time I airdrop I need to go through multiple steps! Airdrop is essential to me as it provides a way of using both devices without going over the monthly data usage allowance set by my company.
any help is appreciated!
