Can't update to Ventura

Hey,

I can't update my Mac to macOS Ventura.

It either says that my Mac is up to date (Monterey 12.4) or after clicking "Advanced" -> "Ok" it reloads and says "Unable to check for updates. Make sure you are connected to the internet".

When I run `softwareupdate -l` it logs:

```
Software Update Tool
Finding available software
The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)
```

And since code -1012 is kCFURLErrorUserCancelledAuthentication I'm not sure what I could do to fix that. I'm not cancelling anything.

This problem persist in the Safe Mode as well. Changing networks don't do anything.

I have M1 Max chip if it matters.

I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Thank you all for help and engagement.

I've managed to get my update to Ventura.

I'm not 100% sure what's the fix but if anyone finds this post, here's probably what you want to do if you have error code like me `NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1012` by running `softwareupdate -l` in terminal:

  1. Restart your Mac
  2. Boot your Mac into Safe Mode
  3. Run `softwareupdate -l` in terminal to see if the error still persists
  4. If it still persists, run `softwareupdate --list-full-installers` in terminal and get your URL in `NSErrorFailingURLStringKey`, in my case it was https://swscan.apple.com
  5. Go to https://swscan.apple.com using Safari (Chrome and Arc display 404)
  6. Click lock icon in the address bar, click "Show certificate" and select your domain. Again in my case it was swscan.apple.com
  7. Copy selected domain's certificate by moving the big certificate icon over to desktop. In my case it was swdist.apple.com.cer file
  8. Open Keychain Access app
  9. Select "System" keychain from the left sidebar
  10. Double click on your certificate file from previous steps (swdist.apple.com.cer)
  11. Now kinda wait a little, restart your Mac, etc.
  12. After some time you should be able to see the update. In my case it was after I returned from my long lunch break, something like 2-3 hours.

Again, I'm still not sure whether this fixed my issue. In any case, I hope someone finds that useful :)

Thank you Old Toad, P. Phillips for your contribution!

Have a great day everyone.
