problems to use the app pages
Where can I get an older version of iwork which might be compatible with my macbook air 2012, Catalina? help please!! I need the apple office apps for work and studies.

Unless you have downloaded Pages in the past it is impossible to download an earlier compatible version. If you have it will show in your purchased section of the App Store.
