Check if it is a temporary glitch, by using these gestures:

Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the side (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 10-20 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear, the one with the "slider" to turn the device off included).

If the issue persists, it could be a hardware (screen? other internal component?) failure but we, just users like you, cannot diagnose that issue remotely, sorry.

I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Regards

Giulio

Did you try calling apple support and asking for an exception? Since the green screen was caused by them and not the user. That’s what worked for me with my phone being out of warranty, you just have to be persistent and explain the situation well. Also had it checked and a diagnostic report was given at the istore stating that there’s no physical or water damage to my phone, then I was granted a one time LCD replacement free of charge. Only had to pay for the diagnostic

I’m using iPhone 13 Pro. It’s only been 18 months. I recently upgraded the software to iOS 16.6 and ran into this issue. I consulted Apple’s service provider and their recommendation was to replace the screen which would cost around 28k INR. They said that it would take around 5 to 7 days.

I checked with a local service provider. The problem was with the voltage supply to the screen. They were able to fix the issue without replacing the screen (at much lower price). My phone is working fine now.

I think that the Apple’s recommendation to replace the entire screen is very vague and expensive. Besides, this issue seems to be caused by or related to the software update to iOS 16.6. They should really look into this and definitely provide more cost optimized and tailored solution for fixing this.

Dont get panic!

Hiii All,

This is the common issue you may face with the Iphone 13/14 pro/max models.

I also own iphone 13pro Max and I faced the same green issue.

The screen automatically turned green.

My phone was out of warranty and I purchased it from US.

I visited nearest apple authorised store in India and submitted the phone.

They checked for physical damages as there were none they agreed to replace the display free of cost. (you should have a legal bill for the iPhone issued by an authorised seller)

Just remember do not open the phone in any local shop or do not try anything on your own. Immediately run to nearest Apple Authorised service center.

Try connecting it to latest version of iTunes on PC using USB cable and force restart the phone.

i had similar issue which got resolved after I did the same procedure.

  1. Connect USB cable to PC
  2. open iTunes app
  3. connect USB cable to iPhone
  4. force restart - press volume up key and release immediately , then press volume down key and release immediately. Then press and hold power button.

repeat this steps at least 3-4 times.

See if this works. Coz it surely worked for me.

all the best

Hello All,

It was the same issue that I had faced with my 13 pro, after the IOS 16 update. It has been hardly 13 months. It was indeed frustrating. I went to store and they suggested to speak with Apple customer care. Upon long discussions, they had agreed for an exceptional case and repaired it for free. What I can recommend is to speak to the customer care and present your case (since damage has not occurred because of your actions) in a professional manner and there maybe high chances they may cover your costs even if your warranty just lapses 1-2 months ago.

Peace !

I recently encountered a similar problem where my phone display suddenly turned green. I knew the phone was working coz I was able to unlock my phone by memory of the keypad. I took it to an Apple outlet where they told me that my display is damaged and needs to be replaced. And this would cost me 32000/-.

this happened on 26th August 2023.

then for the next two days my phone was switched off. On 31st August when I switched it on again the display turned to a moss green colour and had horizontal flickering lines.

today, on 1st September 2023 the green display was lighter, so I connected the phones to iTunes on my PC and force started it two times and the green display suddenly disappeared and my phone is back to normal.

I don’t know how it happened. But had encountered a similar problem in February 2023. Then also the problem was fixed after connecting it to iTunes.

As I am not technically sound and knowledgeable. I feel it is magic that made it work 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

i only hope that I don’t encounter the problem again.

and yeah, when my phone was in hulk mode. I kept taking screenshots. And today when I opened my gallery it was full with them. And it was not the green display. It was a picture of my screen.

hope this is helpful to someone. I know it says nothing much.

Try putting your phone in freezer lol I know it’s little strange but it’s the only thing that works for mine. If I put it to sleep it won’t wake back up till I put it in freezer. I’ve tried EVERYTHING hope it helps someone. I really hope apple does right thing as well! I took really really good care of my phone cuz I’m a little tough on them and this is what I get lol I was so ******

I know a few tricks to fix this issue. You can try using these tricks.

1. If you missed the update, you should update your iPhone.

2. You may have installed a third-party app on your iPhone. Uninstall the app and check if this fixes your issue.

3. Reset all settings on your iPhone.

Lastly, you can check your iPhone if it's still under warranty. Visit Apple device's coverage page to check your iPhone's warranty.
