Wider problem with macOS updates? Is it affecting you?

I came here originally because on both of my Macs I'm unable to run software update (I get "Unable to check for updates") nor the xcode command line tools (I get "Check your internet connection"). I have done all the troubleshooting I can - software update from the command line, different user, no AV/firewall, no VPN, restarted router, tried wifi and wired, different ISP, etc. etc. and it has been like this for two days.

However, there are a number of topics on here from the last two days that are similar, so I suspect there's something more going on than just me and my Macs:

Unable to connect install/update MacOS se… - Apple Community

Cannot reinstall Monterey - network issue - Apple Community

Can't update to Ventura - Apple Community

Update to MacOS Ventura not available - Apple Community

macOS 12 want install Rosetta2 on multipl… - Apple Community

Recovery Server Could Not Be Contacted - Apple Community

Anyone have any insight?

My first thought is that it might be something up with DNS, possibly via my ISP. Although I've tried three ISPs, they're all related to BT (BT, EE and Plusnet - I'm in the UK) and that could be it. I've tried my ISP's DNS, and Google's, and that makes no difference. I wonder what other people with the same issue are using.

For me it seems a problem with the softwareupdated and the apple server because i still can call all urls manually.

softwareupdated: (CFNetwork) Task <4B660B95-6EC0-466E-B950-59B667D4B81C>.<42> finished with error [-999] Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-999 UserInfo={NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-rosettaupdateauto-1.sucatalog.gz, NSErrorFailingURLKey=<private>, _NSURLErrorRelatedURLSessionTaskErrorKey=<private>, _NSURLErrorFailingURLSessionTaskErrorKey=<private>, NSLocalizedDescription=<private>}

I know Apple is already working on it and I also have already a feedback for this.

Fun fact: Its does not affect all Hardware models in my case i have a Mac Mini M1 (fresh installed) and it does not work but my MacBook Air M1 works fine. What i also know its the fact that is not a problem with a specified version. I saw it already on multiple macOS 12 Minior Versions
