Apple needs to fix this - I’ve shut off phone multiple times and links still won’t open. What in the resolution?
iPhone 14. Links in emails and Safari failed to open after Update 17.1.2. Pushed volume buttons on L side and power button on R side simultaneously. On the resulting screen, slid on off slide button to off. Restarted iPhone 30 seconds later. Links now work.
My IPhone 14 Pro will not open the website to a local restaurant. My friends older Samsung phone does open it.
I have rebooted after clearing Safari history. Nothing works. All I am trying to do is see the restaurants menu.
I’m having the same problem… I can click on a link within an email and it will not open
The simplest of google searches shows this has been a pervasive problem since at least 2019. The only fix I have seen that works is deleting and redownloading all apps. It’s ridiculous that apple hasn’t fixed the actual problem and continues to suggest this work around. Deleting and redownloading all apps with each update? Are you serious?
I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max when I’m using iMessages I noticed this same problem with the links not working after I updated the system to iOS 17. The links don’t seem to be “connected” and won’t work as they did. I know the links in iMessage work because I can copy and paste them it’s into a browser and it’s just fine.
Also, I don’t know if this is related at all.. it’s happened a few times where I cannot get the “look up” search when highlighting a word in a document and on the web. Strange that it’s happening now. Could it be from the update? Have a changed a setting somewhere? I have tried a couple things and no luck. Any advice would be helpful.
I’ve tried shutting off phone multiple times and still can’t open links from my email on iPhone 14
iPhone won’t open links such as breaking news and shop now on Facebook
I had the same problem after updating to 17. I did the on and off with side volume and power button and waited 30 seconds before turning back on. Now it works fine. Hope this helps anyone in the future.
Hi there FrustratedAppleUser23,
We'd like to learn more to see how we can help. If you're having difficulty loading websites in two different browsers, that can typically point to a network connection issue. Is your iPhone connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network with good signal strength? If you connect to a different network, does this behavior persist?
Also, you mentioned opening links; which app are you using to attempt to launch a link? For the behavior you're seeing with Safari not loading websites as expected, try working through all the suggested steps in this support article to see if they resolve the issue for you: If Safari isn't loading websites or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Thanks!
I am having the same problem. I have followed the same steps and nothing opens.
Here are the error messages:
This site can’t be reached. (Chrome)
Or
Safari can’t open the page…(Safari)
iPhone 14 quit letting me access attachments in emails and texts about 4-6 weeks ago. Software is updated. Any suggestions?
Same for me. Very frustrating with options to fix from Google.
I solved this problem by clearing the open tabs in Safari. I think it too many are open, no new ones can load
