How to delete yellow line (and corresponding section off-limits to handwriting/drawing) in Notes app?
On my iPad Air (5th Gen., iOS 16.3.1), in the Notes app, I am trying to delete the formatting that creates a yellow line. I have not found a solution in the Apple community forums, so I checked other sites online. Users in the r/applehelp subreddit indicate this is a "separator line," or a "handwriting area marker". It looks like a section break in a Microsoft Word document. Once the line pops up, I can't draw or handwrite in the rest of the note.
I use Notes primarily for *handwritten* lists, brainstorming, and note-taking. I don't want the option to switch between typed notes and handwritten/drawn notes. I know some people do want that option, which is fine. But if you allow the program the option to randomly insert yellow lines/separators/handwriting area markers/section breaks/boundaries/spaces where all of a sudden I'm not able to use the rest of the document for its primary function, where the remainder of the document is now completely off-limits to handwriting/drawing, you need to provide some way to delete that section.
I have tried copying and pasting all of my handwritten notes (using the lasso tool) into a new note. While time-consuming, that would at least be one solution. But that hasn't worked. The yellow line/separator/handwriting area marker/section break/boundary/space is copied into the new note as well.
I know it sounds hyperbolic to say, but my life has gotten measurably worse since I bought an iPad and started relying on it for work. I've spent days trying unsuccessfully to fix numerous problems with the Apple Pencil, Notes, and Files. I've lost hours worth of substantive work, and days trying to get that work back. Apple customer service gives me nothing more than a shrug. It's amazing that Apple is able to charge so much for such a bad product with zero customer support.
